A merchant traveling south of Jamestown to the kingdom run by King Kord was killed when a gunpowder charge went off in the gatehouse. Prior James started an investigation and the trail led to the kingdom north of Jamestown ran by King Grant. After speaking with the king, he assured the church that there was no ill intent with the powder keg, and that it was a faulty one from his traders sent to Kord's castle by mistake.
King Kord's Nobility demands for action, and the peasants cry for war. Although there has been no sign of violence yet, each country begins to dig in and prepare for the worst, as functional outposts have been seen sprouting along King Kord's borders, and over zealous fortresses mark King Grant's borders.
Upon speaking to Prior James, he had stated that the pope will side with a nation only if the gentlemanly rules of war are violated. If there is no aim for peace, and only the sole destruction of the other nation is of interest, then the Prior will be forced to act and a Crusade may be called in these lands for the first time in history.
