I have casually been listening to conversations in games and vent. I have gotten complaints from players about certain clansmen, names will not be shown, and players that we play with.
We need to make an example of ourselves. And lately, I have been getting told by new recruits who quit within three days, or people who love our server, not coming back because of the way they were treated.
This problem is not racism or other common offenses. It's self-righteous elitism. Being good at games is awesome, and your scores scream legends of your heroism. The clan, however, is about more than being good. It's about being fun and having fun. Now... I get word from people saying they don't want to play with certain people, etc. etc. Harassment or negative comments about other players skill, taking the credit for the victory, or openly blaming losses on other players will no longer be tolerated.
And it's not just one person, it seems everyone has a beef with someone in the clan about this same topic. I have to admit, even I had stayed away a bit because of it. But I don't want people to feel like they aren't good enough, if they are fun to play with, who cares how good they are.
It is going to have to change, otherwise this beautiful community of friends and players we have set up will collapse in on itself.
